Approximately 60% of people have problems with dilated blood vessels in our times. The process of their creation comprises many factors (genetic predispositions, inadequate care, external influence, certain medicines, etc.). The first clinical symptom of dilated blood vessels is a flare, so-called erythema. The erythema disappears initially but takes root and stays for good in the course of time. Fragile blood vessels do not withstand blood pressure, dilate and become very visible. As a result, permanent and perceptible changes take place, showing through the epidermis in the form of networks of tiny red “spider veins”. These most common changes are referred to by the term telangiectasia. The tiny “spider veins” appear most often on the face, neck, cleavage and legs. They can be dark red, maroon or even dark violet. Equally common changes, apart from telangiectasias, are various types of angiomas (hemangioma). Dilated blood vessels pose a large aesthetic problem, especially if they are located on your face. Adequate care of such skin is very important and can limit new vascular changes significantly. As regards the existing dilated vessels, very good results are obtained using laser techniques.

Treatment
Blood vessel removal (photorejuvenation) is a dynamic technique which does not require tissue separation and is defined as incoherent intensive pulsing light (IPLTM) of low fluency. It allows to rejuvenate your skin without the need of separating the tissue. This technique is undoubtedly the most effective method of removing superficial and deeper, bigger vascular changes such as venous networks, varices and larger clusters of "spider veins”. During the treatment, IPL directs a light beam of precisely defined parameters, which allows to introduce changes to a given tissue. Light energy emitted by the IPL is absorbed by red pigment (hemoglobin), blood coagulates (curdles) or evaporates, as a result of which a blood vessel is destroyed from the inside. This process is called selective photothermolysis (controlled burn). The treated vessel is spontaneously removed from the organism after some time.
In order to close broken blood vessels, 1 to 3 treatments performed within a couple of months are necessary as a rule. It depends on the number, diameter, colour and location depth of blood vessels. If a vessel was big or a large area was treated, there would be a bruise, oedema or erthema after the treatment but they are sure to dissapear within few hours or days.

Patients notice a significant improvement after a series of treatments which can be described as painless, totally unrelated with tissue vaporisation and guaranteeing a factor which is very important for the modern style – lack of long convelescence. Thus developed procedure is described as causing minimal side effects, giving excellent long-term results and assuring a very high level of client satisfaction.
The IPL Quantum DL system and its integrated skin cooling system make laser treatment of leg and facial veins easy, convenient and effective. All my patients have noticed a positive difference as compared with other technologies.
